Are you related to a Benjamin F. Martin from Hancock county. My wife and I are trying to find out about him. he is her great great grandfather. Some of the records I found show him in the 6th georgia Co K. However, the records show him dieing shortly after enlisting in 1861. This is confusing because we know he lived until 1918. So do have the wrong guy??? There are no other ones that we can find.
