I am seeking the muster out date for John W Shepherd of Gilmer Co, GA. dob: 23 Aug 1834 Macon, NC; dod: 24 Jan 1914 Gilmer co, GA. He enlisted 7 Mar 1861 in the GA 11th Infantry, Company D.
The last record I can find is Feb 1863 in a military hospital in Virginia. I have searched USGenWeb, Footnote and Ancestry. I am trying to discover if he served at Gettysburg. Any information is appreciated.
