Attempting to determine if J. R. L. Hardesty, Company I, Floyd Legion is the man I think he was.

J. Robert L. Hardesty enlisted 18 April 1861 as 1st Lieutenant, Company G, 10th VA Infantry. His resignation was accepted 31 August.

The Hardesty family moved to Georgia early in 1864 settling first in Rome where J. Robert L. was a physician.

Some few months later he moved to Washington where he continued his practice.
