Re: 15th Georgia Infantry - Unit History

The best book I have found is Benning’s Brigade written by Dave Dameron. Pretty good history of the 15th.

I have a question. My G Grandfather was William D. Seals - Co. K - 15th Ga. The official roster states
"Promoted to Full Sergeant 4th Class in 1863
Enlisted as a Private on 15 July 1861
Enlisted in Company K, 15th Infantry Regiment Georgia on 15 July 1861
Wounded on 06 May 1864 at Wilderness, VA
Detailed on 28 February 1865 at Corps Hospl (No further record)”

Confederate pension applications are now on line and his (written at age 63) clearly states (and witnessed) that he served through Appomattox. Can anyone shed any light on this? Is there an Appomattox final muster roll somewhere?
