Georgia burial at First Bull Run

The book, Under the Maltese Cross, a regimental history of the 155th Pennsylvania, contains a description of the regiment's march to Gettysburg in the summer of 1863. On 16 June, the regiment halted at Manassas. A headstone was seen with the following inscription: "Here lies the remains of George W. Scovill, Private, Fifty-second Georgia Volunteers, aged twenty-one years, who died for his country, July 21, 1861."
