If this man belonged to the Georgia state militia, these are state records, not Confederate. The Confederate War Department never saw any militia rolls and had no record of any militia member.

When Federal soldiers captured or paroled a man who belonged to a militia unit, those records were later filed with captured Confederate papers. The inclusion of militia POW records may confuse a number of people on this issue.

The pension papers you have probably contain the best information about this man's service. There could also be rolls at the Georgia State Archives for his militia command.
