I am truly disgusted with the state of affairs at the state archives in Morrow. It wasn't that many years ago it was open to the public 6 days a week. As you say, effective November 1st it will be closed entirely. Researchers will have to make an appointment in advance to utilize its vast resources, that is assuming there will be staff available to assist you. Georgia will be the only state in the country whose archives will be closed. Regardless of party affiliation I would encourage all researchers to email or write a letter to Governor Deal, the secretary of state, and your local representative to voice their disgust at this travesty. What's the point of having a state repository if citizens and researchers can't access that state's records?
