Thomas J. Kitchen, 3rd Corporal, Capt. Henderson's Company, Infantry, Henderson's Battalion, Georgia,* enlisted August 4, 1863 at Covington for 6 months, last shown present January 4, 1864, no further records

Organized for local defence, to serve in all that portion of the State lying north of a line running from Columbus to Milledgeville and thence to the S. E. corner of Richmond County. Called into active service September 10, 1863. They were last stationed at Savannah.

* This company subsequently became Company I, 8th Regiment Infantry, Georgia State Guards
