My G-Grandfather, James Leckie was a Private in the 27th GA Vol.Inf. Regiment, enlisting in Sept. 1861. In Nov. 1864 he finally received a 30 day furlough but, when trying to return to his Regiment in Dec. which was at Petersburg he was cutoff by the movements of Sherman's Army. The Provost Marshall advised that he join a local unit, which he did. Does anyone have any information on Graham's Independent Cavalry?
