Dr. Thomas Amiss was transferred to Salisbury from the 31st Georgia Infantry. The "31 GA" was part of Jackson's 4th Brigade under the command of Gen Lawton. Jackson called the Brigade his "Georgia Brigade" as all regiments were from GA.
