While going through old WBTS era newspapers in Early county Georgia yesterday I noticed a story dated November 4, 1863 about a drummer boy who had been shot at Chickamauga and when undressed he turned out to be a she. Her name was Emily and she died of her wounds. Has anyone ever heard of this story before?
