Re: 9th Georgia Light Artillery

Francis Marion Bomar and his brother Flavious J Bomar, probably at the time living in Campbell or Paulding County served in the 9th.
"Frank's" record ends with
"Said F. M. Bomar fell mortally wounded in an engagement at Lynchburg,VA June 17, 1864. (signed) Wm S. Everett, Capt Co E 9th Btn Attl"

The Battle of Lynchburg wasn't much of a fight, but I have yet to find a record of his burial in Lynchburg OR Richmond and he was WITH his brother who survived. So, it is not like his body was not known: So, where is he? Where was he in the Battle of Lynchburg.

Don't you just love dead ends?
