Re: Alexander Dunn 30th Ga. Inf.??

Ken,
His wife, Elizabeth Dunn, applied for a pension on 13 Mar 1901 and claimed he served in 30th Georgia Infantry, Company B. She was a resident of Fayette County at the time.
A record of his service could not be found and several witnesses gave sworn testimony of his service and the affidavits are included in the application file. The witnesses were B. G. Preston, W. S. Dunn, and A. J. Tarpley. Preston and Dunn also served in the 30th Georgia Infantry. Tarpley was a just a neighbor.
For some reason that I do not understand she reapplied for a pension on 20 Mar 1903. She was a resident of Spalding County at the time. Note that the date of 20 Mar 1903 is also listed as her date of death on her findagrave.com memorial. ?????
Anyway the images of both applications are available at georgiaarchives.org listed under the name of Elizabeth Dunn and Mrs. Elizabeth Dunn.
