I revisited the Chronicle on film. You are correct in your supposition; the column apparently enver really caught on; and it died a silent death. It just stopped.
I have never had the fortitude to go through the Atlanta column, but I ahve gone through the excellent column in the Anderson (S.C.) Intelligencer, which copied articles from what it considered the best of the weekly columns elsewhere, with an occasional local column thrown in.
The local papers sporadically printed veyr good articles; I occasionally run into one by pure happenstance. An index to those, both North and South, would be a God-send.
