To place a certain revolver in the hands of Georgia cavalrymen at any given point in time is a difficult task. Weapons and ordinance were in short supply so Confederate units used whatever weapon was available. This could range from US Model 1860 Colts to the homegrown Griswold and Gunnison Revolver manufactured in Georgia. A good way to garner information concerning what revolver a certain unit carried, would be to read the history of that particular unit. Sometimes different companies within a regiment all were armed differently. For example, Co. A might be armed with the Colt 1851 Navy and Co. D might be armed with the aforementioned Griswold & Gunnison. Some companies might not even have revolvers, only carbines or rifles. Some just sabers. It all depended on what was available at the time of issuing armaments. I hope this helps.
