I am looking for information on confederate quarter master units, transportation units, or transport units. It is easy to get all the information we need on battles, armies, regiments, leaders, etc. but what about the guys and outfits that were responsible for moving all the equipment required by a whole army. In researching names and units I have not found any that were assigned to the task of supplying, and transporting supplies. Does anyone have any info on any of these outfits?? were they civilians?, were they men to old to serve on the front lines? It is hard to imagine how many men it must have taken to have moved and kept wagons, horses, equipment, food, and all the supplies that were needed. Any and all information will be greatly appreciated. thanks, tom
