I am trying to find information about Captain Jacob McCarty who served in the 17th Battalion GA Infantry State Guards from Barstow Co., GA. Some sites list him as a physician; others as Captain. Can anyone help me find more information about this man? I believe him to be my g-g-g-gfa. If I can find absolute proof, then my brother can become a member of the Stars and Bars. Any help will be appreciated.
