I really don't think you are off at all on this, I believe you are probabably real close to being right. I was off about the name, I was told that the original Boykin was a James, and I know for sure he had a grandson or greatgrandson named James. Also it would have been very easy to mistake 37th for 87th when the hand written diary was transcribed, so that answers that question. My grand parents on my mothers side lived at Liberty Hill for a long time, and I had always heard "the old Boykin homeplace" and a good friend lived in that house when he was a youngster, and the stories about it being a hospital and all the posts about Oliver hospital got me interested in the Lott Diary again. I am planning a day at the Troup County Archives, and will definately look into the "BOYKIN PAPERS" thanks so much for the info, it has answered my original question about the 87th. and it has given me the info I need to start a search on the Boykin house. thanks again
