Jim --

The 5th Georgia Regiment has six reels of microfilm. [Reels 194-199, M266, Compiled Service Records of Confederate Soldiers Who Served in Organizations From the State of Georgia.] That's less than some Georgia infantry commands, such as Olmstead's 1st Georgia (ten reels) and less than others, such as Ramsey's 1st Georgia (three reels).

In my experience, five or six reels are about what I would expect for a regiment assigned to the Confederate Army of Tennessee. If the regiment had served in Virginia from 1861 to 1865, I would usually expect more, but not from a unit assigned to the western theater.
