There was a Thomas A. Howell in Company I, 6th Texas Cavalry Regiment, Ross' Texas Cavalry Brigade. The Sixth did not have a good writer who cataloged the deaths as did the 9th. Will try to find more on this Howell. Company I came from the Dallas And Tarrent county are of north Texas, but because Company I was a sharpshooter company, they had men from all over north and central Texas. My two kin were privates in this company. At this time it was probably commanded by Lt Morrison who made Capt in '65. Also tied toa record for Hewell. How's that for a mis-spelling.
