My great grandfather Sylvester Lankford served in the 17th Battalion Georgia State Guards, along with his father Abraham and J.L. Lankford (I think this was his brother). I would appreciate hearing from anyone that might have information about this unit, where it may have served, and any more specific information about these enlistments. Thank you.
