Some of the sources I used last night mentioned the rumor that Semmes was carried from the field on a captured PA flag, possibly a state flag. The immediate accounts mentioned only a blanket. One of those tales we'll never know for sure. The source did say that a PA unit did lose its colors, or flag, in the wheatfield. Maybe they had Spencers. Stan
