William Andrew Baggs, was in the 20th Ga. Cav. Batt., Co. E.

My son is named for him and I have his sword.

From what I understand, though I'm still trying to confirm, is that he was shot at Fredricksburg and died in hospital at Charlottesville.

My dad took me to see the statue that has his name listed on it with others who died there. I was very young and it was during the 1960s.

My dad is from Liberty County, Ga. and we now live in North Alabama.

Not much help, but if you have some information I would greatly appreciate any more knowledge.
