John Walker,Br.1820-1822,Laurens Co.,Ga.

Hello,
Trying to find out if my wifes grgrandfather was in the civil war.He lived in Telfair Co. Ga. durning the war and was married to Mary Elizabeth Towns. He also was missing in the 1870 Telfair Co.Ga. Census and his wife is shown living with her son John C. Walker in the 1870 Coffee Co. Ga.Census.I think he was too old to serve but I understand it was hard times then so he may have join for the pay.
He was always listed as John Walker except in the 1860 census. The whole family were listed as Watsons.
Hope someone can help.

Take Care, Perry DuPre Jr.
