I'm researching a member of the 8th Indiana Cavalry, Romulus Tolbert, who was captured near Owl Rock Church during the Atlanta campaign. I was told there was an account of his captivity and convalescence in a private home near Campbellton, Ga., in Sept. 1864, before transfer to Cahaba prison. Unfortunately the gentlemen who saw the account cannot remember exactly where it was housed, only that it was in a library in a small town west of Atlanta. Does anyone have any ideas about where I might start and who might have such an account? Thanks.
