I am conducting research on the Battle of Columbus, Georgia (or Girard, Alabama, if you prefer) and am searching for eyewitness accounts of the battle and the events leading up to and following it.

I already have all of the OR material and some of the better known accounts, but I am looking for letters, diaries, journals, etc. written by participants or local citizens. I'm also in need of photographs of participants.

I am not interested in buying the original copies, I'm merely looking for transcripts or copies. I am researching the battle for a new book and would like to obtain additional source material to "flesh out" the story, so to speak.

If anyone has anything or can steer me in the direction of someone who does, I would very much appreciate it!
