I stand corrected. Don't pay the attention to higher commands, I should. Wheeler chased Stoneman and Jackson was after McCook. McCooks end did occur near Jonesboro and his escape was narrow. I need to study Wheelers rundown of Stoneman. With Lovejoy Station the goal of both McCook, Stoneman and later Kilpatrick raids there are common camp and rally sites. This aspect is under review by the team at Nash Farm. This may be part of the problem. The battle fields were used more than once by various units. If Wheeler had been there for Kilpatricks raid and the two backup Infantry units for Ross' scant force has shown up as Hood noted. Sheramn.s nose would have been very bloody.
There does seem to be research and collection in many counties, but it doesn't seem to be coordinated.
