Bruce:

I wrangled around and got it from the Transylvania University Alumni Office; it took some doing. It is an alphabetic list of the matriculates in both the undergraduate and graduate programs from ca. 1840 through about 1865. I reviewed it for my limited purposes, and figuring that the Genealogical Society would be a safe respository, I gave it to them, not retaining a copy. Obviously the great bulk of the students were from Kentucky, but there were a surprising number from South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, and Tennessee, if I recall correctly. It runs for 15 or 20 pages, perhaps more. Tonya Browder is the contact person at Old Edgefield District Genealogical Society; they are open daily from 10 to 4. She is the paid director, so you should find Tonya there. Why don't you try to contact her by going onto the OEDGS website. The list has a wealth of genealogical material.

Incidentally, the Transylvania Medical College was absorbed into the University of Kentucky Medical School, but Transylvania College still exists today, the oldest college, I understand, west of the Appalachian Mountains. It is located right in the heart of Lexington. I am thinking that several prominent Kentucky Confederates attended the school.
