Re: Hospital records for a Mississippi soldier

There were several hospitals in Macon. Most of the men who died there were buried at Rose Hill Cemetery. Also search for "fairgrounds hospital", Lewellyn hospital, and check Barnesville, GA, Griffin, GA. Sometimes men were sent to Macon, but didn't make it; they either died on the way or were delayed by trains carrying troops to reinforce Atlanta. If he was in bad shape while a train was waiting, they may have been dropped him along the way at a nearby hospital.
