That was my hope. Art Bergeron replied from the La. board. He says they were added to Gibson's brigade in June 1863. That being the case, the brigade was actively involved in both Ezra Church July 28th and Utoy Creek August 6th. Since this soldier was “killed” on Aug. 5th, he could not have been killed in the "Battle of Utoy Creek" on Aug. 6th; but he could have been killed by a sniper, skirmishing or artillery in the night of Aug. 5th. In all of these cases burial at Oakland is most likely unless he was wounded earlier and died at a hospital down the line rather than “killed” on Aug. 5th.
