Re: Co. F, 45th Regiment, Georgia Volunteer Infant

Ken, Have you seen Henry V. McCrea's book "Forty-Fifth Georgia Regiment Volunteer Infantry: A History"? It came out in 2001. This might be helpful for your project. Gary's info on Thomas T. Raines was correct and since Raines' capture date was March 26, 1865 near Petersburg this would have been the Battle of Jones Farm. Sergeant Major Marion Hill Fitzpatrick, 45th Georgia, recorded in his book of letters ("Letters to Amanda" Mercer Univ. Press)that at the Battle of Jones Farm his regiment lost 6 KIA, 25 WIA and 118 captured. Fitzpatrick's book is a great account of what he and his fellow 45th Georgians were going through. If I can be of any help to you feel free to contact me.
