My great great grandfather and his father were in Company B of the 11th GA, along with his brother and his uncle. My great great grandfather was Nicholas Marion Bowen, his father was Benjamin Bowen, and his brother was William C. Bowen. His uncle, Lumpkin Bowen was promoted to 1SG at Gettysburg. If you go to "The Civil War In Georgia by Eastern Digital Resources, they have a history of the unit, as well as many others. This is a site that sells things, but the unit history is posted free. I have the muster roll for Company B on paper, but I don't have any of the other companies,I will have to look to see if I can find them. I passed through Gettysburg recently on my way home from leave, and I had a look at where the regiment fought, especially Devils Den, that is some rough terrain to fight in. I also have a paper copy of a page in a book that shows the regimental flag and has a short history of it if anyone would like a scan. I posted a message on here previously about a UCV photo that has my Nicholas Bowen in it.
