All service records available for a unit will be found in the same place, but they are not organized by rank or assignment. There is a record for Gibb Edwards in Capt. White's Co., 4th Georgia State Guards.

Many veterans who lived until pension legislation went into effect applied in later years. It's possible that records exist in Georgia pension files.

It doesn't sound as if you have seen actual service records for Robert Edwards. Copies of service files and pension applications are available here.
