Here is a little info. for you. I don't know what you know about your family but you may want to check to see if the other Smith men listed below are also your family.

Smith, Wesley W.- private May 5, 1862. Captured in Kentucky in 1862. Exchanged in 1862. Captured at Vicksburg, Miss. July 4, 1863. Paroled there July 7, 1863. Wounded at Kennesaw Mountain, Ga. June 27,1864. Captured near Jones boro, Ga. August 31, 1864. Exchanged at Rough & Ready, Ga.

Smith, James M.- Elected Captain of Co. I, 2d Regiment, 1st Brigade, Ga. State Troops October 12, 1861. Mustered out at Savannah, Ga. April 1862. Elected Captain of Co. B, 57th Regiment Ga. Inf. May 5,1862. Captured at Vicksburg, Miss. July 4, 1863. Paroled there July 1863. Elected to Ga. Legislature in 1864.

Smith, Warren-2nd Sergeant May 5,1862. Died in Jackson, Miss. hospital November 16,1862.

Smith, Blackshear- private April 19, 1864. Killed at Kenne saw Mountain, Ga. June 27, 1864. Smith, Warren private May 5, 1862. Died of diarrhoea in Jackson, Miss. hospital November 16,1862.
