On this upcoming weekend, 6-7 October, Georgia State Parks will be dedicating the Allatoona Pass Battlefield as one of it's newest park aquasitions. Allatoona will be under the jurisdiction of Red Top Mountain State Park. Members of the Georgia Division of Reenactors will be on hand to demonstrate infantry drill, artillery firing, and more. There will be also ranger led tours of the battlefield and the Clayton-Mooney House (used as hospital after battle) will be open for tours.

Saturday will be the official dedication by GA State Parks, and on Sunday, the monument to the Mississippi troops will be dedicated. All activities will begin at 9am.
