Re: Functions of the Home Guard in the War

From the information I have this Ponders man lived at Rogers, Kentucky. I do not know his age. I have found information that he was killed by the "Home Guard." There is talk, according to the older folk in this area that there is a Civil War Cemetery on Glencarin Road, Rogers, KY. Some people bought the property a few years ago and started bulldozing but were stopped by authorities when someone reported that they were bulldozing into the cemetery. Supposedly Ponders was the first man buried there. He may not have been a soldier. That is what I am trying to find out. There are three other cemeteries on the same land so it is probably that the new owners knew nothing about the civil war cemetery. According to the older people the graves were only marked with large rocks. Any names of civil war soldiers in Rogers, KY would be helpful.
