Their are no Gillenwaters listed in either of the two 6th Georgia Cav. units.

However, there is a Pvt. S. Gillian, Co. K, 6th Ga who enlisted August 1, 1863 at _______merville for 3 years, the August 1 to December 31, 1863 muster records him as "Has never reported cavalry."

Then, we have Pvt. John, Gillean, Co. A, 6th Battalion, Gerorgia Cavalry (State Guard) who enlisted July 4, 1862 in Walker Co., the unit was organized for 6 months service and were musterd out February 7, 1864, he received "commutation for use of horse (40 cents per day) $49.20, he was 50 years old, with _______ gray hair, blue eyes, 5' 9", a farmer.
