Re: Joe Johnston and the North Carolina "deserters

Re the execution of Confederate soldiers at Dalton, Ga. in May 1864, including a list of those executed, visit Terry Foenander's website at http://www.tfoenander.com/massexecutions.htm

The incident occurred on present day Crow Valley Rd. in Whitfield Co. However, there is some disagreement among local Civil War enthusiasts as to the exact location where the executions took place. Those interested in further research may visit the Crown Garden & Archives on Chattanooga Avenue in Dalton.
