Re: Where can I find the National Tribune at?

I am unable to locate the National Tribune anywhere here in Portland, Oregon, so have a request. I need someone to look up a single article I believe was published in the NT sometime in the summer of 1909. It describes a wound received by Augustus W. McCausland, Co. B, 16th Maine during the Battle of Gettysburg. I have a copy of a letter written by Dr. John H. Wilson, an Assistant Surgeon, 73rd Penna. referring to this article and going on to say that he and McCausland met the next year at the GAR Reunion at Atlantic City (1910). Wilson had dressed McCausland's wound at Gettysburg, remembered it all those years because of its unusual nature and severity, and recognized McCausland's description of it in the magazine article. However, his letter, written in 1916, fails to describe the wound. Wilson's letter also fails to specifically ID the National Tribune as the magazine in which he read McCausland's description. He merely says that "during the summer of 1909 I was reading a paper devoted to old soldiers. I came across an article describing a wound very similar to the wound I had dressed at Gettysburg 46 years before. The paper was printed at Washington, D. C."

If someone is willing to locate McCausland's article in a summer 1909 issue of the N. T. and make a photocopy for me, I'd be much obliged and would, of course, reimburse for postage and copying costs. If interested, please contact me by email before undertaking this work as I don't need to receive multiple copies from multiple willing researchers.

Thank you.
