Alan,

Ill have to do some counting, but I know that on the mountain there are none. Alabama has a state monument, Texas has a State monument, Kentucky has a State monument for both sides, Georgia has a state monument(the largest in the park), and Tennessee has 3 state monuments, one for each branch of service, North Carolina has 4 regimental monuments, South Carolina has a state monument, Florida has a state monument, Missouri has 1 regimental, Kentucky has 7 regimentals, Tennessee has 47 regimentals, Georgia has 44 regimentals, and South Carolina has 9 regimentals. There are a few Tennessee and Georgia regimentals outside of the park, I did not include them in the count nor did I include the shell pyramids for the fallen commanders and HQs. So thats out of 666 monuments and markers. No Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, or Virgnia monuments or markers, although Louisiana had planned to erect them and went so far as to map out where they were going to be placed, but never came up with them.
