Judy...I found some info on an E. Miller in Smith's Legion, Infantry. He enlisted as a private (no date of enlistment). No. 4 company (I thought all companies were assigned letters).

In August 1862 Smith's Legion was assigned to the Dept of Tenn.

August 1862 to Oct 1862 listed as Smith's Brigade, Heath's Division, Dept of Tenn,

Dec 1862 to Jan 1863 listed as being in Gracie's Brigade, Dept of Tenn.

Feb 1863 to March 1863 listed as Louden, Tenn, Dept of Tenn.

Organized May 21, 1863 Mustered Out March 1, 1863.
