Gary,
I thank you for your information. I am getting a good picture of Dr. Holloway. Before he was assigned to the 38th GA, he served in Richmond at Hospital #6 and at the hospital in Montgomery, White Sulphur Springs, VA. He was sent to the Army of Tennessee for a short time at Chatanooga, TN and was with the 30th Alabama Infantry until Just after Atlanta. He was then transfered back to the Army of Northern VA in 1865. (Now I know that he was returning to an old regiment, the 38th GA Infantry in 1865) It would be natural for him to be parolled in Bowling Green, VA. That is the County Seat of Caroline Co. where his family plantation,"Spring Garden" was. He married for the first time in 1865, raised 10 children and practiced medicine in Caroline Co. until his death in 1919.
