It appears you have received some good responses to your query already. Overby is listed on my 8th Georgia Infantry website (http://home.earthlink.net/~larsrbl/8thGeorgiaInfantry.html), on the Co. H roster, but with no further information. There are a couple of Rome, GA reference books that may be worth checking, but mine are boxed up right now as I'm in the midst of a move. I'll be glad to check in a couple weeks.
