I am currently researching the 16th Battalion Ga Cavalry (later the 13th Regiment Georgia Cavalry)and am curious about a clothing receipt roll which shows in the compiled service records for all companies of this unit. It is the 3rd quarter 1864 clothing receipt roll (copyist Cooper). My question is where this roll took place. It is not stated in the compiled service records. I speculate that it occurred while this unit was in service with Jubal Early in the Shenandoah Valley. If this is a fact then it would place a determined number of men in the valley with Jubal Early.
