There is a Confederate marker in Savannah's Laurel Grove North Cemetery for Lt. Col. Edward J. Magruder of the 8th GA Infantry identifying him as being killed on 2 Jul 1863 at Gettysburg. I have a problem with this! Lt. Col. Magruder was not even wounded at Gettysburg, he survived the war, he did not die until 26 Feb 1892 and he was buried at the Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Rome, GA. Does anyone know anything about this?
