52nd GA Infantry

Is there any way to find out the cause of death of a soldier with the 52nd GA Infantry. William Dempsey Seay enlisted with the 52nd on the 5th day of Feb 1863 and went to Vicksburg Miss. I have found a medical record for him for 1 Mar 1863 he had the mumps and again in April 1863 he either still had the mumps or had them again and in May 1863 he had diarrhea. The next record that I have found is 24 Aug 1863 his mother Mellie Jemima Seay filed a claim of settlement with the Office of the Confederate States Auditor for deceased soldier. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Charles.
