I found my ancestor soldier that was in 59th inf. Ga, regiment and was wounded at Gettysburg. Just put a marker on his grave William Henry Archer but, his Dad was listed in paper I found in a Library that says 99th Militia district age 49. I would love to know where in Ga that is.
Were they on stand by or was it like National Guard? If I knew where to find the districts I would know where my gggrand dad lived in Ga. How will I go about that??
