Alan
I have a copy of A.J.'s pension application and some of his service record. I guess what I am looking for is info about the skirmishes that the 11th fought and where they were fought at. A.J. joined Captain Kelly's Company (Lumpkin Guards) 30th Battalion Georgia Cavalry on 4 May 1864. This Company later became E Company, 11th Georgia Calvary. Are there any books in the library system that I might get to learn about the 11th? It has been over 20 years since I have been to a library, but maybe I can figure out the process again...

I come from a long line of patriotic ancestors who have fought in every war and conflict since 1777. I myself spent 21 years in the Army and I'm trying to do a biography of my ancestors who served in the military. A.J.'s brother (William Dempsey Seay) that was three years older than he, died in Vicksburg, Mississippi in 1863 with the 52nd Georgia Infantry. So any help would be greatly appreciated. Charles
