Re: 5th georgia infantry - Company A "Clinch Rifle

Dear Mr. Warnock,
thank you for your offer to help.
I am currently trying to find 2 things:
For one I am looking for Fotographs of the Uniform of the Clinch rifles. On the Internet I was able to find a drawing and several period images. I really would like an image of their uniform which was taken in color. Meaning from a Museum. So far I have not been able to get one.

Secondly I am very interesseted in the Company Flag. I did find a description:
"Co. A, 5th Georgia Volunteers—"Clinch Rifles"—green field with gold fringe; Georgia coat-of-arms on reverse with name of company overhead; the obverse bore portrait of General Clinch, name of company, mottoes, and date company was formed. (Note, this flag was purchased in 1860, before secession, together with a complimenting U.S. flag.)"

But that's all - no image.

Maybe you could help me find those pictures. It would be of great help for me.

I did write a couple E-Mails to the Augusta Museum of History. But did not get any answere from them. Apperantly they do have a Uniform of the Clinch Rifles in their collection.

Kind regards
Handy
