Re his widow's claim listed under the name Losebee. When you look at the way script was written in the 19th century, and even today, L's & S's look very much the same.

The Compiled Service Record files which contain the card which notes that she filed a claim, is simply a notation that such a document existed.

If it exists today, it would reside within the bowels of the National Archives in Washington, DC.

I suggest you obtain his service records and you will see this card, as well as another filed by an attorney, same date. They may show document references. Alan reveals how you may obtain his records.

Then, contact the Old Army Archivists at the National Archives to ascertain if these documents exist.

I caution however, effects usually note only a monetary value and in rare cases, items of clothing.

I'm not sure it's worth the effort. Nonetheless, I've never seen an actual claim
and they may contain valuable genealogical information. Perhaps, someone on this board may be able to comment on this.

Again, his medical card records a register from the CSA General Hospital, Parker's Store noting that he had suffered a gunshot wound and died. You might want to do a Goggle search with that subject as the source term.

Re the photo in a previous post. This is most likely a shot of battlefield dead.
Not any from a hospital. Deaths at hospitals would have been buried locally nearby within a day. Later, when the park cemetery was formed, he may have been re-interred, if at all.
